2025 Connacht Fleadh Announced
Ballinasloe, County Galway, has been officially announced as the host town for the 2025 Connacht Fleadh, a major celebration of Irish traditional music, song, and dance, organised by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. The announcement was confirmed by Michael Cusack, Chairman of Connacht Comhaltas, marking a highly anticipated return of the provincial fleadh to Ballinasloe for the first time since 2014.
Taking place from June 29th to July 6th, 2025, the Connacht Fleadh will feature a full week of cultural celebrations, culminating in an exciting weekend of competitions from July 4th to 6th. In a continuation of last year’s format, dancing competitions will take place on Friday, July 4th, with all other competitions scheduled for Saturday, July 5th, and Sunday, July 6th.
The Connacht Fleadh serves as a crucial qualifying event for competitors aiming to secure their place at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann – the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil, making it a key milestone for musicians, singers, and dancers from across the province.
With extensive planning already underway, attendees can expect a vibrant program of events. The festival will celebrate the rich musical heritage of the region and is set to attract talented performers and visitors from across Connacht and beyond.
Speaking on the announcement, Michael Cusack, Chairman of Connacht Comhaltas, shared his enthusiasm:
“Ballinasloe has a deep-rooted tradition of Irish music, and we are thrilled to bring the Connacht Fleadh back to Galway. The local organising committee is working hard to ensure an unforgettable week of music, song, dance, and culture for all involved. We look forward to welcoming competitors and visitors to the Connacht fleadh.”
